How do I discontinue weekly lessons?Please notify the Lessons Team at least two lessons in advance. You remain responsible for the lesson time reserved during the notice period.Telling your teacher does not replace notifying the Lessons Team.

Can I pause my weekly lessons while I’m traveling?You may pause tuition, but we cannot guarantee that your regular teacher, day, or time will remain available. Weekly lesson times can only be held while tuition continues to be paid.Please contact the Lessons Coordinator before an extended absence so we can discuss your options.

What happens if I arrive late?Your lesson will still end at its regularly scheduled time. Teachers are not required to wait longer than 15 minutes, and missed lesson time cannot be added to the end of the lesson.

Do unused quarterly cancellation credits carry over?No. Weekly Auto-Pay students receive one qualified cancellation credit during each calendar quarter:January–MarchApril–JuneJuly–SeptemberOctober–DecemberUnused credits expire at the end of the quarter and cannot be transferred to a future quarter.

How is my payment information protected?Registration, invoicing, and online tuition payments are managed through My Music Staff and its third-party payment processor. The Candyman does not directly store your complete payment-card information.Payment information is handled by the payment processor according to its security standards and privacy policy.

Why do I have to pay when I miss a lesson?Weekly tuition reserves a specific teacher, studio, day, and time exclusively for you. Your teacher prepares for the lesson and relies on the income from that reserved time. Because canceled appointments are usually difficult to fill, scheduled lessons are nonrefundable.Weekly Auto-Pay students may receive one qualified cancellation credit per calendar quarter when the Lessons Team is notified at least four hours before the lesson.

Why are teacher cancellations handled differently?When a student cancels, the teacher has still reserved the time and prepared for the lesson. When a teacher cancels, the teacher is unable to provide the scheduled service. If your teacher must cancel, we will first try to provide a substitute teacher. If a substitute is unavailable, or you prefer not to work with a substitute, the lesson will be canceled and credited to your account during the next billing cycle.

What if I become ill on the day of my lesson?Please notify the Lessons Team as soon as possible so we can inform your teacher and release the studio. What happens if I forget or miss my lesson?A missed lesson without advance notice is considered a no-show and is not eligible for a credit or make-up lesson.We may contact you because we care about our students and become concerned when someone unexpectedly misses a lesson. Courtesy email or text reminders may be available, but students are ultimately responsible for remembering their scheduled lessons.

Why should I notify The Candyman if I will not receive a credit?Your notification allows us to inform the teacher, release the reserved studio, and update our schedule. It also lets us know that you are safe and prevents our staff from becoming concerned when you do not arrive. Please notify the Lessons Team even if you have already told your teacher.

Are make-up lessons available?Make-up lessons are not guaranteed for student cancellations or missed lessons. In rare cases, a teacher may offer a make-up during the same week and before the student’s next regularly scheduled lesson, depending on teacher and studio availability.

Can I receive a refund for canceled or unused lessons?Scheduled lessons are nonrefundable because the teacher and studio have been reserved specifically for the student. Teachers also prepare lesson plans and materials outside the scheduled lesson, and administrative and payment-processing costs have already been incurred.When proper notice has been given, an eligible remaining account balance may be kept as a credit, applied toward future lessons, used toward merchandise in our retail store, gifted to another student, or donated to The Candyman Scholarship Fund.

How can I communicate with my teacher?We encourage students, parents, and guardians to communicate directly with teachers about progress, assignments, practice, and lesson materials. Parents are welcome to check in briefly at the beginning or end of a lesson.Teachers may choose whether to share their personal contact information. However, all scheduling, cancellations, enrollment changes, billing questions, and account-credit requests must be reported directly to the Lessons Team, even if you have already discussed them with your teacher.

When will my cancellation credit appear?When a cancellation qualifies for a credit, it will be applied to an upcoming billing cycle. If the cancellation is reported after the current billing cycle has been processed, the credit will appear on the following month’s invoice.

What happens when my lesson falls on a holiday when The Candyman is closed?The Candyman is closed on New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If your teacher chooses to teach on one of these holidays, you may either attend your regularly scheduled lesson or cancel and receive an account credit.If we cannot reach a student to confirm attendance, we will assume the lesson is canceled.
